RE: ACCOMMODATION AT OKE BAY LODGE, WHICH IS RIGHT AT THE START OF THE TRACK

You can do this two ways. 

FIVE STAR:

You can pay the usual price which is $250 per person per night. For this you get your own room and you sleep in the gorgeous beds, all linen provided. You get breakfast: cereal, eggs on toast, machine made coffee.

OR

TRAMPERS WORK-A-ROUND

You can do what we call “the trampers work around". The price is $95 per person but…..

• You have to sleep in your sleeping bags ON TOP of the beds (we have 2 doubles and four singles) 
• You have to bring an old sheet to put over the bed. This stops the duvets from being soiled in any way. i.e. you are sleeping ON the bed, not IN the bed. You take the sheet away with you when you leave.
• You have to use your own pillow. 
• You have to use your own towels. 
• You can obviously use the showers and toilets. There is a dedicated fridge here too for you to use overnight. 
• You bring your own food. The $95 option is not bed and breakfast. 

This arrangement saves us having to wash sheets, towels, duvet covers when people come to stay. We figure that you’ll have your sleeping bags and pillows for your night out at Cape Brett anyway so this “trampers work around” will not be an inconvenience. 

You can then enjoy the magical outdoor views, sunset, a wine or two on the front deck etc. For more visit www.okebaylodge.co.nz 

The idea is for you to stay and make a very small foot print yet enjoy a magical night in a perfect location to get you rested and ready to get the most out of the Cape Brett tramp.

NOTE: My partner and I will stay in one of the rooms so you won’t have the place entirely to yourself. However, we’ll keep to ourselves and do our own thing so as to respect your privacy. 

Please send me a screenshot when you’re done then I don’t have to keep checking.  

NB: In fairness to others, you are not booked until you have paid. We operate on a first in, first served basis.

If you want the Lodge all to yourselves, and us not there, that’s fine, but the cost to you will increase to $150 per person per night plus $20 per car and all the trampers work-around conditions still apply.
